THE Journey

Wild Retrieves was started when I lost my black lab too early in life. She was diagnosed with a rare disease called Blastomycosis. Emma was the best lab. She lived every day as if it was her last. Without a doubt, she was that dog that would change my life forever. I was fortunate to have her by my side in the fields and call her my own.

Emma passed away in July 2023. She will always be my faithful friend that taught me life isn’t perfect, but a dog will get you pretty close.

Hence, Wild Retrieves was born.

The Legacy Lives On

Dolly

Growing up, I always had dogs. I remember picking out my first puppy, a Brittany named Dolly. Little did I know, she would be the first of many dogs. Dolly was stubborn as a bull but had a heart of gold. She taught me how to run fast because my recall technique didn’t quite exist yet. Over time, we both learned a lot about each other. I gained knowledge into animal ques and how dogs learn – What Brings Success And Makes Them Shut Down. Benefiting the unbreakable bond between an owner and their dog.

Emma will always be the dog that tested me the most. She undoubtedly forced me to train in a multitude of ways. I dove into dog books and built my own lesson plans that continued to bring little progress. But then it dawned on me – There’s no timeline for training dogs. Whether it’s a puppy or an adult, every dog will learn at a different pace.

THE brand

All of our product’s stem from years of dog training and realizing what works and doesn’t. A Slip Lead has always been our go-to training aid. Our leads differ from most on the market, by not using a traditional stopper. Stoppers often wear out over time and are deemed useless. Therefore, we designed the lead to work with a slip lock. A feature integrated to work without getting worn down. The fact is we build products to last and hold their value to a dog owner.
